Maybe you've just got back from your new skis' or snowboard's first trip to the slopes. Or maybe it's time to bring your prized possessions back out of storage for another season of shredding. Either way, regularly servicing your equipment is the only way to keep it performing at its very best, and we've got options to suit your every need. And if it's taken a knock and needs restoring to its former glory? We'll have it looking - and riding - as good as new.

Why should you service your gear?

Keeping your ski or snowboard equipment in tip top condition is important for so many reasons, including performance, safety, and sustainability. Regular servicing will extend the life of your equipment and help it last longer, keeping it out of landfill and reducing consumption.  It will also improve its performance in the snow and help you to get the most out of every moment on the mountain. Finally, well-maintained gear will ultimately be safer, with less chance of issues or injury caused by wear and tear or historic damage, so you can be sure your gear will look after you as well as you look after it.

Our Stores

We have on-site workshops at five of our Snow+Rock stores, but you can drop your gear at any of our stores for servicing/repairs and we’ll send it off to the workshop at one of the stores below:

  • Bristol
  • Chertsey
  • Chill Factore (Manchester)
  • Hemel Hempstead
  • Port Solent

Servicing and repairs can take up to 14 days, so make sure you give yourself enough time for your gear to be returned to you before heading to the mountains.

Available services and repairs

Please note that if there is a large amount of damage or special work required, we reserve the right to adjust these prices accordingly.

If you require additional or more extensive repairs including top sheet damage, boot buckles and small repairs, please bring your gear to store and speak to an in-store expert.

Our Recommended Seasonal Service Programme

Early Season: September/October/November

The best time of the year: the start of the ski season. Now's the time to get your skis or board out from storage and get them ready for the slopes.

If the edges of your skis or board are dull or even rusty, and the base is white or dry, then we recommend a Full Service to repair any damage, structure your equipment for optimum glide, and sharpen and polish those edges. Make sure to bring your boots, too, so we can check your bindings.

If there's no damage to your equipment, we'd recommend a Basic Service to sharpen and polish the edges with a hot wax. If your equipment is still sharp and rust-free, just a hot hand wax will be enough to get it ready for the season.

Mid-Season: December/January/February

You're back from your first trip of the season - but it won't be the last. We recommend at least getting your skis or board re-waxed to replenish the moisture, but you should also consider a Basic Service to smooth out any nicks and restore your equipment's grip. If your gear has suffered any damage, a Full Service is the best option to fully restore it.

End of Season: March/April

After the last snow of the season has melted, it's time to prepare your skis or board for the summer with a storage wax. This is a thick layer of wax which locks moisture into the base and reduces the risk of oxidisation or rust, and we think it's the best thing you can do for your pride and joy. You may want to combine the storage wax with a Full Service, so that at the start of the season you just need to have your skis or board scraped and polished in store, or you can wait until the start of the season, so they're freshly serviced ready for the slopes.
